Unique Yoga-Movement Classes
“Move-well” is a comprehensive functional movement modality, incorporating science based tools to expand and bridge the gap between Yoga and Movement.
Teaching functionally is an invitation to feel something in the target area. Defining the target area creates a sense of body awareness and allows you to find a different shape or your “expression” of the posture.
This is different than teaching Aesthetically where the focus is on how we look in the posture.
“What are you feeling?’ gives opportunity to listen to the body in a culture where we often only take inventory when something bad is going on.
Teaching functionally gives each pose an Intention, or purpose. An opportunity to create stress and thus sensation in a target area, inviting inner awareness via the breath.

Our Yoga-Movement classes incorporate current science based training systems
Functional Range Conditioning FRC® is a system incorporating:
- active mobility development
- joint strength
- body control to improve the function of your nervous system
Postural Restoration Institute PRI® Techniques
- acknowledge human inherent asymmetry
- provide a multidisciplinary approach
- merge different fields of science including optometry, podiatry, neurology and respiration
Mastering the art of breathing is essential for effectively applying the PRI® techniques. Respiration operates as a pressure mechanism involving both the pelvic diaphragm and the respiratory diaphragm. When we have faulty breathing, we lose the ability to regulate this pressure system and it may result in chronic injuries or chronic pain.
Our Yoga-Movement classes combine some of the old with some of the new because Movement is a powerful tool influencing the way you think about and approach your Yoga-Movement practice.
Yin yoga
Yin yoga is mainly a seated yoga practice where props are available to enhance the postures.
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as ligaments, bones, and even the joints of the body that normally are not exercised in more active asana practices.
We focus on a target area and invite tolerable sensation, or stress to the area. By checking in frequently we keep the practice safe.
We explore stillness in the posture and hold for time. This invites a mind body connection, and ultimate relaxation and balance for every participant.

About Kelly Lightfoot, Owner
As a female wellness advocate I am always pursuing and learning new ways to create strength, mobility and balance in my body. When Yoga-Movement becomes less about how you look, and more about how you feel – there’s no going back.
Yoga-Movement, personal training, climbing, lifting heavy weights, dancing Kizomba and hiking are just some of my favourite things. I have been teaching and coaching Yoga-Movement since 2009.
I invite you to our beautiful farmhouse studio and outdoor Yoga-Movement Space to practice with community.

We have added in an outdoor wood heated Cedar Sauna along with a cold plunge tank.
Hot and cold therapy can improve circulation, decrease stress, and improve sleep. Time spent outdoors in Nature allows your nervous system to reset.
Yoga-Movement Workshops incorporate outdoor hot and cold therapy for full relaxation and holistic wellness.
